Eyebrow Waxing: What to Expect (And Why It's Only $10)
Quick answer: Eyebrow waxing removes stray hairs from the root to clean up your brow shape. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes, results last 3 to 5 weeks, and it stings for just a second. At Diamond Nails in Duluth, eyebrow wax is $10 and lip wax is $7.
How it works
- Your tech talks with you about the shape you want.
- Warm wax is applied to the hairs to be removed.
- A strip is pressed on and pulled off quickly.
- Stray hairs are tweezed and a soothing product is applied.
Before your appointment
- Let your brows grow for 2 to 3 weeks so there's enough hair to shape.
- Tell your tech if you use retinol, acne medication or exfoliating acids. These can make skin sensitive to wax, and you may need to pause them first.
- Skip exfoliating scrubs on your face the day before.
Aftercare
- Avoid hot showers, saunas and heavy makeup on the area for 24 hours.
- Don't touch or pick at the area.
- Some redness is normal and usually fades within an hour.
How often to wax
Every 3 to 5 weeks keeps your shape clean. Add it to your manicure or pedicure appointment to save a trip. See our waxing page.
Common questions

It stings for a second with each strip, then fades quickly.

Can I wax if I use retinol?
Tell your tech first. Retinol and some acne treatments make skin sensitive to wax, so you may need to stop them before waxing.
