First Time at a Nail Salon? Here's Exactly What to Expect
Quick answer: At your first nail salon visit, you choose a service, pick a color, and your nail tech shapes, cleans and polishes your nails. A manicure takes about 30 to 45 minutes and a pedicure about 45 to 60. At Diamond Nails, new clients get 10% off the first visit.
Before you go
- Book a time. You can book a date and time online, or call or text if you'd like a specific nail tech.
- Know your service. Not sure? A Classic Manicure ($20) or Regular Pedicure ($35) is a great start.
- Wear open-toe shoes for a pedicure so your polish doesn't smudge.
- Bring a photo if you have a design or color in mind.
During your visit
- Your nail tech asks what you'd like and shows you the colors.
- Nails are trimmed, shaped and cuticles are cleaned up.
- For pedicures, you'll soak, get callus care and a massage.
- Polish goes on last. Gel is cured under a lamp and dry right away.
Speak up any time. If the water is too hot, the shape isn't right or something feels uncomfortable, your nail tech wants to know.
Picking a service
- Want color that lasts 2 to 3 weeks? Choose gel.
- Want length? Choose acrylic.
- Want strength without length? Choose dip powder.
Paying and tipping
