How Often Should You Get a Pedicure?

October 03, 2026•2 min read

Quick answer: For most people, a pedicure every 4 to 6 weeks keeps feet smooth, nails trimmed and calluses under control. In sandal season or if you wear gel polish on your toes, every 3 to 4 weeks works better.

A simple pedicure schedule

  • Every 3 to 4 weeks: summer, sandals, gel polish on toes, or very dry heels.
  • Every 4 to 6 weeks: most people, most of the year.
  • Every 6 to 8 weeks: winter, closed shoes, or if you mainly want nail trims and cuticle care.

Toenails grow slower than fingernails, roughly 1 to 2 millimeters a month, so polish on your toes lasts longer than on your hands. Calluses come back faster, which is why regular visits keep heels from cracking.

Signs you are due

  • Polish is chipped or grown out
  • Heels feel rough or catch on socks
  • Nails are long enough to press into your shoes
  • Cuticles look dry or ragged

Which pedicure should you book?

Our Regular Pedicure ($35) covers the essentials: soak, trim, cuticle care, callus treatment, massage and polish. If your feet are rough or tired, the Deluxe ($42) adds a sugar scrub and cooling mask. See every option in how much a pedicure costs in Duluth.

Between visits

Moisturize your heels at night, wear socks over the lotion, and file rough spots gently once a week. Avoid shaving calluses at home, which can cause cuts and make skin grow back thicker.

Common questions

Is it bad to get a pedicure every two weeks?

No, as long as your nail tech is gentle with calluses and cuticles. Most people don't need it that often, but it's fine for gel touch-ups or sandal season.

How long does a pedicure take?

Plan about 45 minutes for a Regular Pedicure and up to about an hour and fifteen minutes for the Luxury Pedicure.

Should I shave my legs before a pedicure?

It's best to wait. Shaving within 24 hours can leave tiny nicks, so shave the day before or after your visit.
